CREATIVE COLLABORATOR

I’m Vanessa - a Toronto-based operations expert and trusted collaborator who helps founders and creatives bring structure, clarity, and momentum to their ideas, projects, and businesses.

I work alongside business owners who don’t want to build alone, turning ideas into working systems and shaping thoughtful client and community experiences that actually move things forward.

Together, we turn big ideas into grounded plans, build systems that support growth, and create experiences that feel human, intentional, and well-held.

I work best with kind, ambitious founders and creatives who value collaboration, clarity, and building things that feel both well-run and deeply human.

MY PHILOSOPHY

When your vision is clear - but the path forward isn’t.

You have ideas you care deeply about. You know there’s something more possible in your business, your projects, or your team.

But maybe:

  • You’re holding too much alone

  • The next step feels fuzzy, even though the vision feels strong

  • You’re craving structure without losing the soul of what you’re building

  • You want a thoughtful second mind - not advice shouted from the sidelines

You don’t need more noise. You need a collaborator who can meet you where you are and help you move forward - with clarity, care, and momentum.

COULD YOU USE A CREATIVE COLLABORATOR?

Do you feel alone in your creative process?

Running your own business or leading a team can get lonely. Bring in a trusted second eye, an open heart, and a capable set of hands - for a day, a week, a month… or even a year.

Need a creative audit of your business?

We can work together to take a thoughtful, holistic look at what you’re building. We’ll uncover fresh opportunities and efficiencies, clarify what’s truly working for your audience, and reconnect you to what still lights you up.

Through focused conversations and energizing brainstorms, we’ll work through stuck points, explore new directions, and shape ideas you may have only half-articulated until now. From there, we’ll create a clear, actionable plan - something you (and your team) can actually move forward with.

Do you want more of the right people finding their way to your work?

You don’t need to become a marketer to grow your business - but you do need clarity, consistency, and a way of communicating what you do that feels true to you.

I can help you step back and look at how your business is showing up in the world: how your ideas are being shared, how clients are being welcomed in, and where things may feel scattered, under-expressed, or overly complicated.

Together, we can shape thoughtful touchpoints - emails, newsletters, launches, and simple communication systems - that feel human, grounded, and aligned with your values. The goal isn’t to shout louder. It’s to speak more clearly.

When your message is clear and your systems are supportive, the right people tend to find you - and stay.

Are you stuck on how to move your next big project forward?

You’ve got the idea - now it needs form, structure, and momentum. Tap into a creative hive mind with me to open things up and get them moving.

No more circling in dreamland or “should-ing” on yourself. Your Creative Collaborator (yes, that’s me) helps grease the wheels, clarify decisions, and translate vision into action.

Want to build — or realign — your dream team?

Imagine a team where:

  • Roles are clear

  • Strengths are well-matched to responsibilities

  • People feel confident, valued, and well-placed

  • You get to lead as the visionary you actually are

Whether you’re a solo founder assembling a project team or reworking the dynamics of an existing one, we’ll build a culture of creation that feels aligned, sustainable, and genuinely good to be part of.

Is your team looking a little wilted?

Invite me in to get to know your team. I can get to the root of what a team needs pretty quickly. We can create bespoke appreciation events and celebratory gifts that will touch hearts and minds. Think personalized touches that will surprises and delight (spoiler: it has a LOT to do with recognizing their individual talents in unique ways). Have your team walking on a cloud feeling full, seen and ready to do more.

Are your clients in need of some bespoke love?

Your clients chose you for a reason. Let them remember that at every step of the way. Whether online or in person, I can design powerful client events that will upgrade your value proposition. Let your clients feel they made the right choice in working with you and have them telling everyone about it.

THIS LIFE SITE

My own creative collaboration, brought to life.

If the way I work resonates with you - the blend of structure, care, clarity, and creativity - this site is a living example of that approach.

I created my own LIFE SITE to hold all of me: my experience, curiosities, creative edges, and the work I’m here to do. Something beautiful and useful. A place I could point people toward and say, “This is me.”

That impulse: to organize a life, body of work, or business into something coherent, human, and inviting, sits at the heart of how I collaborate with others.

A LIFE SITE is a digital home for your whole self, not just a résumé or job title.

It’s especially powerful if you’re:

  • Evolving your work or identity

  • Stepping into a new chapter

  • Craving more alignment in who you attract and work with

A LIFE SITE helps the right people find you, feel you, and understand you - often before a single conversation begins.

MY EXPERIENCE TIMELINE

A person with curly hair and wearing a navy blue shirt smiling against a gray background.

I’ve re-imagined the traditional resume. Typically packed with acronyms, vague project names or lengthy titles, the resume has always felt a little impersonal to me. However, I understand the need to summarize a person’s work experience when you’re seeking your next best hire.

I have simplified my timeline by creating a slide through section for the “skimmers”. I’ve also included an Full Experience Timeline section complete with a downloadable resume.

THE IMPACT

It’s one thing to list a bunch of projects and responsibilities on a page. It’s another to really examine the impact they made. Below you will find examples of my projects and accountabilities - click the button below to discover how they made a difference.

FAQs

  • I started to revamp my resume at a particularly precarious time of my life. Being blasted with key words, jargon and terms that AI recruiters would be certain to pick up felt bad. Like, really bad.

What did feel good was assembling a coherent picture of my work to put into the world. I wanted to share a slice of the internet that demonstrated my varied life experience and express my skills and abilities in my own voice. Beyond the flashy font, I also hoped to show off my creativity, my tenacity, my sense of humour and my “webmaster” skills. This is waaaay better than a PDF right?!

Plus, it was incredibly humbling to have my colleagues, committee members and collaborators shout out such beautiful things about me. Everyone should ask for kudos once in a while. Building this site has been a salve for my heart. (And maybe, I’ll meet a collaborator and make some money too?!)

  • Yes, I am a self-employed consultant who takes on freelance work. I am also open to being employed (short or long term contracts) with the right organization. As you can see, I have varied experience, skills, talents & interests. Curiosity, opportunity for growth and a mutual fit is what is most important to me. We’ll know when we know.

  • I don’t love this term. Not only does it assume that there is always a clear line between life and work, but it doesn’t afford us the flexibility to work at our optimal states at our optimal energy levels in our optimal environments.

So a balanced week for me might include: working from home or remotely, having multiple in-person connections throughout the week, taking half a day to hike & reset, full day brainstorming sessions with a team, taking time to rest, attending networking sessions, hosting a mastermind meeting, cave work sessions on Zoom, a late night working session when the momentum is in full swing, solo writing to reflect a project’s success and gaps, or re-focusing by going for a walk in the forest to stimulate fresh ideas and solutions.

Essentially, all days are life - even work ones. And I plan on spending them wisely, with smart people putting big things into the world.

  • Collaboration, freedom, trust and autonomy, ample opportunity to tap into my creativity and a chance to make a positive impact on those around me.

Nothing lights me up like seeing an idea come to life.

  • Whoa, that’s a big questions for an FAQ. But since you’re asking…

Generativity speaks to my heart more than legacy. The term generativity was coined by the psychoanalyst Erik Erikson in 1950 to denote “a concern for establishing and guiding the next generation.” It has since evolved to include using our personal growth to positively impact the world.

There is something really powerful about sharing my experiences in ways that can enable collective growth. By expanding my experiences, I am creating opportunities for others to do the same. It’s through my work and all its variance, that I get to go on generative adventures often. One I can actually enjoy seeing unfold…while I’m alive.

    No statues for me please.

  • Curiosity, creativity, kindness, integrity, leadership, resilience, dependability, humour, open-mindedness, generosity, authenticity and vulnerability.

I didn’t just pull these out of a hat. I take my time to decide on my values.

PRO TIP - Pay attention to what you get angry at. That will usually tell you where your values lie.
